💍Wedding ready💍 – What I wore

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all having a great long weekend so far!

I attended a fabulous wedding this weekend and after some beautiful comments on my outfit, I decided to do an outfit post!

As you may have seen on my ‘Style Shaper’ Facebook page, I mentioned that my outfit cost less than €100 and were all pieces which I had in my wardrobe. I am a firm believer of re-styling different pieces to create an outfit!

My outfit consists of pieces from the following stores:

  • River Island
  • Ax Paris
  • Dunnes Stores
  • Pennys

Black crop top –

This little top was such a steal at just €12 from Ax Paris. I found this in a store in Carlow called ‘Minx’ which is situated on Tullow St, but I am sure it is available online as this was bought recently. What I liked most about the top is that it is quite long and doesn’t show too much skin, but at the same time sat comfortably and didn’t need to be tucked into the skirt.

Blush pink sateen box pleated skirt –

The base of my look for the day was this fabulous skirt! It is the most beautiful blush pink, heavy sateen, box pleated skirt that I have ever seen and as you can imagine, one which I fell in love with it the minute I seen it! So here’s the best bit which is going to be quite devastating for those asking about it, I snapped this up last Christmas in the sale for just €18 in River Island. I know it is such a long time ago, but believe me, when I seen this not only in my size, but the only one left, I was not leaving the shop without it as it is such a stunning classic piece.

Savida rock stud courts –

As you may have seen recently, I posted these shoes by Savida from Dunnes stores which are complete duplicates of the Valentino shoes but at a fraction of the price. Now I have to say, I have never purchased shoes from Dunnes stores before but these were the comfiest shoes ever! I didn’t take them off at all the whole day. Unfortunately these shoes are becoming very hard to come by in any of the stores as there is such a high demand for them and it is also the second time Dunnes have stocked them. These were a steal at just €40.

Pink fluffy cross body bag –

This little fluffy bag was the glamorous accessory which brought my outfit together but which also made it ‘me’. I also found this bag in the sale last Christmas at River Island. But never fear River Island now have these bags available in beautiful summer colours including powder blue which is fab! I snapped this up for €24 in the sale at the time. It is a real investment piece as it makes such a statement and is timeless.

Jewellery and accessories –

Pink Custer pearl earrings – Pennys/Primark

Watch – Marc Jacobs

Bracelets – Pandora

Rings – Pandora

I hope you have all enjoyed this outfit post on my recent wedding look.

I want to thank all who have taken the time to comment and write to me over the last few days on the look, as I really appreciate it and love being able to help out where I can.

If you want to know more on the outfit or where to get similar pieces, don’t hesitate to get in contact with me!

Stay fabulous guys and gals!

Sumptuous Silk – The ‘By Didi’ capsule collection

Hello everyone!

This has been the most productive and exciting blog post to date! In March I was contacted by London based fashion designer Dena Nakeeb about her absolutely stunning capsule collection ‘By Didi’.

To say I am honoured to write this piece on Dena, and her ever growing ‘By Didi’ brand would be a complete understatement. Dena and I have been chatting away almost everyday planning the piece and perfecting each little detail which has coincided with this fabulous post and I have loved every minute of it!

At a glance

Dena studied psychology at university and completed her Masters in Child and Family Psychology in 2010. Currently working in the Finance Industry, and having the fashion range as a side business, Dena explains how she has always been interested in the empowerment of women.

Incorporating both her educational background in psychology, and love for fashion, Dena began creating these beautiful garments to help aid women of all shapes and sizes feel incredibly beautiful in their own skin.

The beginning of a beautiful story…

Being half Irish and half Iraqi, Dena was brought up in beautiful Jordan, in the Middle East. Completely influenced by her upbringing and country of birth, Dena began experimenting with fine fabrics such as silk, which she was first exposed to in Morocco at the silk markets. “I wanted to source my fabrics in the Middle East” according to Dena, which she now does so, and from both Morocco and Tunisia.

The silk is the most incredible silk which is of no comparison to any other silks in the world. The feel of the garments have been described as ‘heaven’ on the skin.

Dena was inspired to pursue her dream of designing by her mother who has been her biggest champion to date in always supporting her, and bringing out that inner creativity and extra sparkle which made this chapter in her life so very exciting.

The best thing about being a Fashion Designer

“Being able to experience and see the garments on those you love and those who are strangers is what makes the designing process worth it, but most importantly knowing that the energy you have put into a creation and design will be carried each time that that person wears the garment”.

“I am also big on the spiritualality side of things, and my thoughts are that; when I put so much time, effort energy and love into my designs, that the energy will transfer and create positive energy to the person wearing the garment”.

Your favourite Fashion Designers

“My favourite Designers would have to be Chanel, Valentino and Oscar de la Renta”. Classics.

The ‘By Didi’ personal shopping experience

Dena explains how she wants to go back to the original form of selling, which is making the brand far more luxurious and personal for her customers. Dena will be hosting a ‘By Didi’ personal shopping service around four times a year, which will be held in British Boutique hotels in central London as the brand wants to be signified by a truly British ethos.

The event will involve having samples of the collection, canapés and drinks along with members of the ‘By Didi’ team which will be available to take customised orders on all the garments. The collection can be produced in an array of colours and the garments can also be customised to the customers preference, by trying the garment on, and choosing the specific colours they want from the colour specialist who will be on hand to match the pieces to your skin tone.

Orders taken at the event will be hand delivered to your door within 14 working days.

Recent photo shoot for the ‘By Didi’ capsule collection

On the 28th of March, the ‘By Didi’ capsule collection took centre stage at the Milestone hotel in Kensington.

The Milestone hotel in Kensington was the location of choice as Dena wanted to keep the brand and shoot as ‘British’ as possible. The Milestone hotel is a beautiful boutique hotel which Dena says she prefers as it brings through a feeling of warmth and homeliness that one cannot find in a chain hotel.

What’s to come

More and more pieces are to be added to the collection. Dena is in the process of adding four more tops to the collection, three more dresses and a jumpsuit!

Pure London which are a collective group of fashion buyers, influences, retail and trend experts have accepted the ‘By Didi’ in their Allure range for the tradeshow in August.

Dena has been asked to custom make some garments for some extremely desirable London stores, all information is currently confidential – but do expect to see her in some big named windows soon!

Another fabulous achievement

Dena created her first Haute Couture piece for ‘By Didi’ which was designed for a beautiful lady in Canada for her engagement.

As always, stay fabulous you lot,

☀️The Style Shaper talks – Summer holiday essentials☀️

Hello everyone!

Wow, what a week it has been! I have such exciting blog posts coming for you all soon!

This one today is going to give you an idea of all your summer essentials that will carry you through the summer, wheather you are holidaying at home or abroad, this post has got you covered!

So have your suitcase at the ready and let’s get packing your summer essentials👜👙☀️

Coming up in this post I will share with you my Top 16 Must Haves for the summer holidays;

  1. Suncream and after sun (SPF)
  2. Lip moisturiser with an (SPF)
  3. Cleanser and toner
  4. Moisturiser for the face and body
  5. Make-up
  6. Sunglasses (UV protection)
  7. Shorts
  8. T-shirts/vest tops
  9. Dresses
  10. Footwear
  11. The fedora hat
  12. Accessories
  13. Swimwear
  14. Sarongs/cover ups
  15. Beach bag
  16. The ‘mini bag’ and Zip pouch purse

These here are my ‘must haves’ but you can also add in your own pieces too! This post is just to give an indication of what you can bring along.

Suncream –

Have you ever walked into a shop or pharmacy, squeezed out a little bit of suncream on your hand, rubbed it in and said; “It reminds me of holidays” because I do this ALL OF THE TIME!!!!!!

This Piz Buin suncream is my absolute favourite suncream. Now I know it is one of the more pricier brands, but it is fantastic! I think what you have to remember when looking for a good cream is the SPF that it carries along with the formula and its resistance to water.

Previously I have used a Nivea suncream, and it stained everything! And when I say everything, I mean every bikini, sundress and vest top was destroyed in yellow stains! Now don’t get me wrong, if you like other brands, go for it, but this Piz Buin is my ‘Summer Essential’ as it has a range of SPF’s, fabulous smell, is water resistant and moisturising.

Remember: Please please don’t go out in the sun without suncream! It will save you from burning, but most importantly it protects you against the strong sun rays which could lead to skin cancer and premature ageing.

 After sun –

A big thing for me with after sun is that it contains a natural ingredient which you know will nourish the skin after being exposed to the sun. Aloe vera is one ingredient which I love, and that I know will sooth any area of the body wheather it has been exposed or not.

A lot of pharmacys carry pure aloe gel which is perfect to stick in the fridge and have cooled for when your back from the beach!

The two I have picked to show you is a pure aloe vera gel from ‘Banana boat’ and a moisturising after sun from ‘Hawaiian Tropic’ which is just devine and carries aloe vera too.

Remember: After sun and moisturising is so important after being exposed to the sun as your skin has dried out and will tighten, so you need to get that extra nourishment afterwards. Also it saves you from peeling like an orange!!!

Lip moistureiser with SPF –

“Suncream for your lips” – Who is guilty of not applying a lip cream with SPF?? It’s hard to remember everything while your on holiday, but our lips are exposed all of the time, and unfortunately can burn. For the past two years while holidaying in hot weather I have used the ‘Garnier Ambre Solaire nourishing lip protection stick’ with SPF 20 which I find brilliant.

It looks just like a lip balm and is small and easy to carry even in your pocket!

Cleanser and toner –

Guys and gals, pack a cleanser and toner in that suitcase because you will need it! With the sun, the amount of places you visit, things you touch, the different foods you eat and the alcohol you drink it is all going to effect your skin unfortunately!

Yes, the sun is a fantastic source of vitamin D, but if your not drinking plenty of water, and looking after your skin in terms of an SPF and moistureiser, your skin will break out!!

When I say places you visit and things you touch I am referring to all of germs that go to your hands, and where is the first place we touch?? The face!! So you now have dirt particles all over your skin on top of everything else, but you might think ‘oh I’m glowing’ and apply make up over the dirt…. NOOOO!! Cleanse, tone and moisturise for the perfect summer glow!

If you read my previous post on the Guinot range which I have started using for my skin, you will know that these products are just fabulous and amazing for the skin as they contain aloe vera and cucumber extract.

Moisturiser –

Referring back to the after sun piece, a good face moisturiser and body moisturiser is essential for holidaying in the sun. Bring along your normal everyday moisturiser and one for night along with maybe a nice refreshing eye cream for those late nights out!

I would recommend a nice body butter containing shea or coconut. The shea butter is a great source of vitamin A, but also has healing properties. Coconut butter actually destroys harmful bacteria. Both also smell and feel great on the skin!

These two butters, are from The Body Shop, and are amazing!

(Finally moving on to the fun stuff☺️)

Make-up –

I think when going away on holiday you want to limit down the amount of make up you bring. Let’s face it, no one wants to apply a full face of product at night when all you want to do is relax and have a few cocktails!

I would recommend:

  • A highlight primer
  • Switching to a BB or CC cream for a more fresh faced look
  • Bronzer
  • A highlighter for a glowing touch
  • A neutral eye pallet
  • Your everyday wear mascara

Sunglasses –

When the sun is out, something we automatically do is whip out the sunnies and pop them on! Now, in Ireland we aren’t so blessed with good weather all of the time, but when holidaying abroad you are guaranteed sunshine all day every day which means only one thing…sunglasses!

Sunglasses are not a necessity for looking good in the sun, sunglasses are there to protect your eyes from the uv rays of the sun, so you won’t be blinded by the brightness and so you don’t have to squint and create unwanted lines😉

Now, the most important thing you want to remember when buying sunglasses is that they carry a good uv protection barrier. Sunglasses without uv protection are absolutely no good to you! You will be blinded!!! And that’s putting it plain and simple, but most sunglasses these days have that protection.

As you know I am a Pennys/Primark junkie!!! I love a good bargain as does everyone! Pennys/Primark have the most amazing dupe sunglasses in store today starting from just €3

Shorts –

Shorts are a must have for any summer holiday. Wheather it’s going down to the pool, the beach or for a stroll, you can always rely on shorts!

When going away I always make sure I pack shorts which I know can be taken from day to night with a change of accessories. I would stick to these main types;

  • Dark/light denim
  • White/black
  • Coloured

A dark or light denim is a must for me! They can be worn casually during the day with a vest top and flip flops or can be worn at night with a simple change of accessories – adding a belt, cami, bolder jewellery and a wedged sandal.

Here are some picks from the high street –

  1. New Look – €24.99
  2. Oasis – €35.00
  3. River Island – €30.00
  4. River Island – €35.00
  5. River Island – €43.00

Here are some plus size options –

  1. Simply Be – €38.99
  2. Simply Be – €34.99
  3. Yours Clothing – €21.00
  4. New Look – €22.99
  5. New Look – €17.99
  6. New Look – €17.99

T-Shirts and Vest tops –

I always bring one or two nice long baggy tee’s with me on holidays. They are great for throwing on with a pair of shorts or on its own with a bikini heading to the pool or even for something as simple as going to the nearest shop or bed time!

Vest tops on the other hand are a MUST HAVE for me! I could literally bring maybe ten of the same vest in a variation of colours! Being the most versatile piece of clothing ever, you can easily jazz them up for a night out.

Down below is a vest top from ‘ONLY’ which comes in 24, yes, 24 different colours which are sure to carry you through the holidays. Also may I just say, these tops are brilliant, completely stretchy, fabulous fabric and wear fantastically.

This particular range are €9.95 each or buy two for €16.95 and save €2.95…sorted!!!

Dresses –

When your away on holiday the last thing you want to be trying to put on is a heavy, fitted dress. I would recommend purchasing a few light summer dresses that you can throw on during the day while going for breakfast or lunch and then accessorise for night time with statement jewellery and a pair of wedges or a flatform sandal.

Here’s a few I managed to find from Pennys/Primark summer 2015 collection that start at JUST £5/€6

Footwear –

So, flip flops are a MUST HAVE for holidays. They are the handiest footwear to throw on your feet while sitting at the pool or walking to the beach. Now, if you follow my Instagram and Facebook page you will have seen my recent post from Pennys/Primark with flip flops starting from JUST €1.50 which is a steal at its best, you just can’t go wrong with these!!

Here’s a few to show you

I also have these ones to show you from H&M which are JUST €19.99 and are complete dupes of the Birkenstock style flip flop.

Flip flops are great day footwear, but if you want to jazz up your evening outfit, I would go with a dressy flat, a flatform or a wedge sandal like these ones below!

The fedora hat –

Summer would be incomplete without a fedora!

A hat is a great way to protect your scalp from burning in the sun, and we have come a long way in the fashion world from the trusty ‘cap’ to these beautiful fedora hats which have been brought through each summer season and seen to be becoming that little bit more oversized.

Me personally I love them! I think they are so stylish and classy along with being bang on trend for summer. They are the perfect accessory to any day or night time outfit. Throwing one on with your bikini heading to the beach, or with a maxi dress for evening time can change up your outfit to give that casual chic look.

Here is a few on trend fedora hats from the high street.

Accessories –

🌟Don’t be afraid of coloured accessories 🌟

Oh where to start! I mean, when I’m going away I literally try pack my whole bedroom up, but unfortunately most airlines only allow 15-20kg baggage so we have to take our best pieces which are most versatile.

Neckpieces – When I am packing, I pick neckpieces that I know will go with almost everything! A plain gold neckpiece, a colourful one and maybe a pearl one usually work wonders because I know I will be able to work these around all of my outfits.

Earrings – I would stick to maybe one or two pairs of studs and then the same amount of long earrings. Again, sticking to the number one rule of bringing versatile pieces is key.

Rings – I love costume rings. The high street is packed full of fashion rings these days and they don’t take up to much space or weight in your case. I would stick to maybe multi-coloured ones and a few solid colours also that will coincide with each outfit.

Belts and body chains – I think sticking with one or two belts will work a treat while away. You can’t go wrong with a standard black belt, then mix it up a bit with a solid gold or coloured belt to bring through that summer vibe.

Body chains are making a come back this season again which is fantastic. They are the best accessory to jazz up your daytime beach outfit and also for night.

Swimwear –

Going away to the sunshine means only one thing… Swimwear!

Wheather you want to bare all or cover up that little bit more, the high street and online sites have got you covered, and you don’t have to spend lots either!

I think the most important thing is not to pack a lot of bikinis and swimwear items as you won’t wear them! I learned this the hard way!! Pick items that you can mix and match with.

You may have seen my recent post on a little Pennys/Primark summer haul which included a few bikinis which are stunning and a fraction of the price of designer swimwear.

To the right is a dupe of the very expensive Triangl bikini, but from Pennys/Primark and for just €14.

Here is also a two piece also like the one above in the Asos curve range for under €30

Sarongs and beach/pool cover ups –

One thing I love about going away is having lazy days by the pool and beach but not having to dress heavily, or use your outfit pieces during the day.

Sarongs and beach dresses are a god send when it comes to summer holidays. They are so easy to just throw on and go, but at the same time look and feel stylish. They are the perfect piece if you are that little bit more body concious and are also light and airy.

Here are a few I have picked out to show you

Beach bag –

I would always bring a nice sized beach bag with me while going away. You can squeeze them into your case without taking up too much space, but also because they are so handy!

When your going to the beach or pool you will have all of your sun creams, towels, sunglasses, water, a book and whatever else you like to carry! Having a spacious beach bag is the answer to carrying all your bits and bobs!

(The silver beach bag from River Island is reversible, so you can have a silver or black beach bag!)

The mini bag and zip pouch purse –

When it comes to handbags I am a sucker for a big, spacious, loose everything in it, suitcase kind of bag!!! But when away there is no need for such a big bag. The mini satchel bag and cross body bags have made another strong appearance on the high street this summer season and they are the perfect bag for bringing away on holidays.

Another style staple for holidaying is the ‘bumbag’, and these are amazing! No carrying around, no rooting, just perfect!

When away last year, I picked up a small beaded purse in New Look for I think €3 and it was the best thing ever!

I know when your at home and doing your everyday duties that your purse literally has your life in it, but when your away all you need is money really! So why bring along your big old purse? These little zip pouch purses are perfect for carrying around but also for not taking up much space in your bag!

Below are a few from River Island which range from just €6 – €13

So guys and gals, they are my top 16 summer holiday essentials with some pictures to give you that extra little idea!

I hope you have liked this post as much as I have enjoyed writing it (I am now getting excited for my trips away)

If you have any questions on the post, don’t be afraid to comment or get in contact with me on any of the items which I have talked about or posted here!

Stay fabulous guys and gals!

🌸Pastels and pearls🌸 – what I wore

Hello everyone!

Today I went to Carlow College to see one of my Irish blogging idols, Suzanne Jackson of the ‘So Sue Me’ blog.

A few people have asked about my outfit and shoes which I posted to my Instagram earlier today, so I thought why not do an outfit post and let you know how I decided on the outfit! I am going to tell you all where the pieces are from along with their price points!

(This is my first official ‘what I wore’ post so let me know what you guys think! I would love some feedback!)

So as you can see it is quite a casual outfit. Black skinnys, plain white (penny’s😉) top, and a pastel light jacket.

I decided on this outfit today as I wanted something light as the weather is very heavy at the moment but also to bring through my own personal style with encorporating the pastel trend along with that! I turned the skinnies up at the bottoms as it made the outfit feel nice and summary too.

As I always say;

Never overthink an outfit, just be you!
– The Style Shaper

🌸Here is my outfit details🌸

Black skinny jeans –

Let’s face it, you can’t go wrong with a pair of black skinny jeans! These were the base of my outfit today! I pulled them out of the wardrobe and worked from there. These ones are from River Island and are €50

White vest top –

A white vest top is a wardrobe staple, and I have a lot of them! You honestly can’t go wrong with vest tops and they come in so many different colours, and can be easily carried from day to night with a change of accessories. This one I wore today is just plain white with a subtle striped detail throughout. It has a fab gold zip going down the back also which I loved! It’s all about the finer details that add that extra zing to your look. Where is it from may you ask…. Pennys/Primark of course!!! This was only €7 which is such a steal as it is so versatile and washes great also.

Pearl neckpiece –

Oh who doesn’t love a good pearl neckpiece? This one is my fave! It’s big, it’s chunky and makes such a statement. When it comes to jewellery and accessories I am the biggest magpie! I have so many neckpieces it’s rediculous, some with the tags still on them which I bought ‘just in case’ haha! This one I wore today is from Forever21 in Dublin and it was around €12 I think!

Pastel pink long line jacket –

I got this pastel beauty in River Island on sale about three weeks ago. I bought the exact same jacket in black last October which had a black removable fur collar on it and I just loved it! It’s the kind of jacket that gives you the coverage and look of a coat, but is nice and light for this spring changeable weather. It is 82% acrylic and 17% polyester which washes great. This style steal was just €30 (on sale)

Pointy toed flats –

The shoes! This is going to be such a disappointment for all of you who have asked about my flats. Unfortunately I got these I think two years ago in River Island! (They are in great condition) But never fear….Pennys/Primark have a great range of pointy toed flats in at the minute that are just as nice! I seen a fab nude pair and black pair also. Continuing on from the court shoe, the flat has become quite popular, so a lot of high street stores have them in at the minute. I think at the time these were around €33

I hope you have enjoyed this post on my recent outfit! If you would like to see more let me know via comment or by directly writing to me!

Stay fabulous guys and gals!

REVIEW ~ Guinot Lait Hydra Fraicheur Cleansing Milk and Guinot Lotion Hydra Fraicheur Toning Lotion – The Style Shaper

Hello everyone!

A few people have asked me about my skincare routine and how I look after my skin. I decided to review two amazing products from Guinot, the cleansing milk and toning lotion which will give you an idea of what the products are like for the skin and also give you an idea of what the products contain and do for the skin.

After having a Guinot facial done at Sam McCauleys Salon by beauty therapist Trudie Corrigan, I was recommended these two products by Guinot.

– Guinot Lait Hydra Fraicheur refreshing cleansing milk

– Guinot Lotion Hydra Fraicheur refreshing toning lotion

These two products are just WOW!! I fell in love with them the minute I started using them.

From the refreshing non-sticky cleanser to the hydrating toning lotion these products are a must for all skin types. Both products include Aloe Vera extract along with cucumber extract in the cleanser and ginseng extract in the toner which leave the skin feeling hydrated and refreshed. Also with vitamin B5 present in the toner, the skin does not tighten up after use which I found amazing!

Above is the cleanser, which is a light mint green in colour. It is such a smooth cleanser and applies to the face easily. It smells fantastic, very refreshing and just like you’ve had a facial done!

The toning lotion is blue in colour and smells just as nice! I think what I like most about the two products is that my skin feels clean and refreshed after use, but also it doesn’t leave the skin feeling tight and dry.

Next up I am going to share with you some information on the products which will help you determine wheather this Guinot range will suit you!

Guinot Lait Hydra Fraicheur Refreshing Cleansing Milk –

  • Cleansing milk is suitable for skin types including dehydrated or mature skin
  • Dissolves make-up and dirt on the face and neck area
  • Cucumber extract which softens and refreshes the skin
  • Aloe Vera extract with moisturises and soothes the skin without any irritation
  • It is gentle to use on the skin, lips and neck areas

The benefits of using Guinot cleansing milk –

  • Washes away all traces of dirt
  • Removes make-up and waterproof make-up
  • Refreshing non-sticky formula
  • Refreshes, softens and hydrates the skin
  • Gentle formula which suits all skin types including dehydrated and mature skin

Key benefitting ingredients –

  • Aloe Vera extract – with hydrating and soothing properties, aloe stimulates cellular regeneration which is fantastic for the skin

Price point

Price for one 200ml bottle – €24.50

(I got each 400ml bottle on special at the time for the same price, so keep an eye out for specials this summer)

The price may seem a little bit steep for just one bottle, but I honestly think it’s worth it especially for a skincare product, as caring for your skin is very important. Also you don’t need much as it spreads easily, which in turn makes the amount last longer.

The Style Shaper rates:

I would rate these two products 10/10.

The cleanser and toner are just fantastic, and I will certainly be keeping a stock  of these especially for keeping my skin refreshed, hydrated and glowing this summer.

I hope you have all enjoyed this review and information on my new favourite Guinot skin care products.

A huge thank you to;

🌸The Style Shaper ~ Summer picks from Pennys/Primark🌸

Hello everyone!

I hope your all loving this fab weather at the moment!

As its heating up outside and we are all getting that little bit closer to our summer getaways, I thought it would be a great idea to share with you the few bits and bobs that I have picked up in Pennys/Primark as they have arrived in store.

Unfortunately some of the pieces may not be available in certain stores, and as we all know Pennys/Primark don’t carry an online website which is devastating!!!! But they bring in similar pieces every week, so if you can’t get your hands on a particular item, you may be able to get something similar or pick it up in a leading store!

The two piece

I snapped up these two bikinis below as soon as I seen them!

This first one is black with lemon prints on it with a slight high-waisted bottoms and low front top. These 1950/1960 style bikinis started to appear last year on the high street, with nearly every high street store carrying a different style.

Me personally…. I love them👙💛

The versatility of these ones enable you to wear them with or without straps, and also carry drawstring bottoms so you can wear them as tight as you please.

Top – €9

Bottoms – €6

This next bikini I feel in love with immediately when I seen it! Not only with the bight colours (which will look amazing with a tan) but with the style!

Yes ladies, down below is a replica of the Triangl bikini (Around €82+) which has been trending all over Instagram since last summer. Unfortunately my budget certainly can’t stretch anywhere near that price range for one bikini.

So I present to you…. This little number!

This beauty came in at an amazing €14

Top – €9

Bottoms – €5

Culottes

I have done some previous posts on culottes which I love this season as they are so easy to style. However, paying an extortionate amount of money for a pair was not on my list of things to buy.

Below I have for you two pairs. One black and one with a beautiful floral print.

I decided on the black pair as its a classic colour, and let’s face it, you can’t go wrong with black! As for the floral ones, I fell in love with the print and colours. A prominent navy with a mixture of nudes, pinks, lime green and orange.

Both pairs are €17

Accessories

Who needs to empty their bank account for Ray Bans when you can get duplicates for a fraction of the price along with the prettiest patterns. Below I have a gorgeous pair of sunglasses with UV protection, and a floral hard case protector.

Sunglasses – €3

Floral hard case – €3

These chains that are up next are a complete style steal at the moment as evey celeb is wearing them, whether it’s just one or more for that layered look.

I picked up these ones as I thought the skinny gold effect chain would be perfect for summer and for styling any day or night look. These chains would also be perfect for the festival season which is creeping up on us.

Four pack – €4

Shoes, shoes, shoes!

Oh I’m so excited to show you these sandals! They are all just perfect to carry you through the summer, wheather its holidaying in the sun, or a bbq at home.

So, as you can see I got these in both colours as I couldn’t decide which ones! But at that price I couldn’t justify getting only one pair!

Both pairs – €13

Next up are these bronzed wedged sandals. I thought they would be perfect for a summer holiday as they have a little bit of height in them, but are quite sturdy too. I also love love love the metallic colours which would go perfect with a tan.

Wedge metallic sandal – €18

And last but not least, making a strong appearance last year on the high street, the wedged runner is back with a bang this season. I got a white pair last year and they were fab with shorts as they carry a little height in them so you don’t feel dressed down.

I seen these stripped ones in my local store and thought they were fab but also hit that all time summer favourite nautical trend.

Stripped wedge runner – €9

So guys and gals thats a few little picks from Pennys/Primark that I have snapped up for my summer getaways.

I hope you have enjoyed this post as much as I have! I love a good shop in Pennys!!

Guys just remember that it is only April, and a lot of the summer stock is running out fast, so get to your nearest store as soon as you can!!!

The Style Shaper – Summer wardrobe must haves

🌸Hello everyone!🌸

After some lovely comments and direct messages, I have decided to compile some staple style pieces from three different high street stores that I think are a must have for your summer wardrobe. The three stores I have decided to work with on this piece include:

  • River Island
  • Pennys/Primark
  • Dunnes Stores

I think the three chosen are a great mix of price points if you are working with or without a budget this summer.

All of the pieces coming up in this post are very versatile as you can mix and match them as you please along with dressing them up or down!

Here’s a sneak peak of what’s coming up from Penny’s/Primark!!

As Spring/Summer trends are starting to clog up our favourite stores, I thought it would be good idea to create a blog post for you all with some of my eleven favourite picks from the high street. It was hard to narrow the trends down, but the items I have picked are staple pieces that you will be able to play around with and wear for either day or night time.

The eleven pieces featured in this post will include:

  • The white skinny jean
  • The palazzo pant
  • Duster coat
  • The culotte
  • Flatforms
  • Florals – box bag and court shoe
  • Fringes
  • Matching Co-ords
  • The shirt dress
  • Sunglasses
  • The sleeveless jacket

The White skinny jean –

One of the must haves for your wardrobe this summer is a white skinny jean or pant, and they are everywhere on the high street! I have got two different ones to show you today. One from River Island and one if you are on more of a budget from Dunnes stores.

This white tube pant is from River Island and is priced at €50

Now to be compleatly honest with you, I have various pairs of these tube pants. I think they are great quality, easy to wear and are so comfortable. They also have quite a high waist, which is great if you are like me and like them high on your hips.

These White skinny jeans are from Dunnes Stores and are priced at €25

These jeans are a great alternative to the more expensive tube pant and are cotton to touch so are comfortable to wear. At this price you couldn’t go wrong either!

The palazzo pant –

Trending on the high street right now is the palazzo pant. If you remember in my previous post about body shapes I mentioned a wide leg pant for the Inverted triangle shape or the Apple shape! Well this is going to be your best friend this summer!!

This khaki crepe print palazzo pant is from River Island and is priced at €45

I decided to pick this one as my style staple as I think it is priced fairly but you can also play around with this so much! Working in blacks, whites and khaki colours with it will also create an on trend look.

I also have another pair to show you that is a lot more affordable.

This white pair of palazzo pants are from Pennys/Primark and are €17

White is a big colour this summer and this pair of palazzo pants will certainly bring you through the season. White is such an easy colour to work with and they can be dressed up or down, from day to night.

Paired here with a pair of flatforms, you could also go with a flat sandal during the day or a wedge for night time. They are the perfect holiday must have.

The duster coat –

If you checked out the ‘what I wore’ section in my blog post for the photoshoot last week, you will have seen that I wore a black duster coat which was from Penny’s/Primark. I have picked out a duster coat for you all which comes in three, yes three different colours, and all from the one store.

This duster coat is from Dunnes Stores and is priced at €25

This fab mint colour duster coat is a steal from Dunnes Stores. It comes in three colours, mint, blush pink and black. These pastel colours will be perfect for your summer wardrobe, as they can be dressed up or down whatever the occasion!

The culotte

Trending at fashion week and big on the high street this season is the culotte. Now, I was a little bit sceptical when I first seen them, wondering how they would sit on the body but also about the 3/4 length. But…..let me tell you! They are fabulous on!! I purchased these ones below!

These floral print culottes are from Pennys/Primark and are just €17

What a steal!! After fitting these on in Pennys, I fell in love and I can’t wait to style them! They come in different colours and prints. Unfortunately as we all know Pennys stores can vary. I found these in the Carlow store in plain black, Ivory, the above floral print and a white with a navy parallel stripe.

The Flatform –

Making their first appearance last year, the flatform has made a powerful comeback this season with a fantastic range in almost every highs street store. I decided on these metallic ones today as I have purchased them myself and know that they are comfortable, stylish and on trend.

These metallic flatforms are available from Pennys/Primark and are €18

Pennys/Primark have a fantastic range of flatforms out now in an array of colours and styles. I personally like a bit of height in the wedge, but if you would prefer a smaller wedge, they are doing a range that will suit you.

Florals – The box bag

Box bags have become quite a big trend in recent months from colourful clashes to fearsome prints. As the floral print has made a comeback once again this summer, I decided to show you all this box bag which carries a more Hawaiian print which would be perfect for your holidays.

This box bag is a steal from Pennys/Primark – Price to be confirmed

Brighten up your outfit with this box bag as it is a must have style staple accessorie that will jazz up your look, but also bring through the floral trend in your outfit. It has a double sided floral pattern with a gold trim and gold strap. This bag is quite versatile as it can be carried as a shoulder bag or as a clutch.

The court shoe –

The court shoe has hit the high street with a bang this season, with celebrities such as Kim Kardashian making it her shoe of choice. I have chosen this court shoe as my wardrobe summer staple as I think it has the prettiest pattern that you could match with any colours your outfit may carry, and also has an appropriate heel height.

These court shoes are available from a Pennys/Primark near you – Price to be confirmed

I think that what makes these pair of courts so special is the floral print. You can see how the print varies in colour, from light to dark, which will make it easy to outfit match.

The Fringe –

As a popular festival trend, the fringe has made a strong appearance on the high street. I found this black fringed tank top and a bag comarison for all of you to take a peek at.

This black fringed tank top is a steal from River Isalnd at the fab price of €22

If your channelling the boho chic vibe this season, then head on into your nearest River Island store and pick this up before it’s gone! I think at €22 you certainly can’t go wrong as River Island are known for their product quality.

The fringed bag –

I have found two identical fringed duffle bags for you all to have a look at! With a serious price difference between the two, this bag trend will be hard not to follow.

The first bag to the left is from River Island and is a whopping €50

The second bag to the right is from Pennys/Primark and is a steal at €10

Yes, it is literally like looking at the same bag, but with a €40 price difference! The black fringed duffle bag is appearing all over the high street, with its fab tassels and drawstring fastener.

Matching Co-ords –

I think one thing we can all say quite confidently is that our usual go-to dress has taken a back seat this season making room for the new ‘it’ trend that is matching co-ords. Making a strong appearance last year on the catwalks and hitting the high street with a bang towards the end of last year is this trend that seems to keep on growing!

Now if you feel that you may not be able to pull this trend off, go with separates, as a lot of celebs have been seen taking either the top or bottoms of their co-ords and simply matching it up with a pair of plain bottoms or top. I have decided on this matching co-ord as it is a major steal and has the most beautiful leaf print and colours.

Isn’t it just beautiful!! A major steal from Pennys/Primark.

Skirt – €12      Top – €13

If you don’t want to splash out on a matching co-ord, then Pennys/Primark is the answer for you! They have a great selection of seasonal trends that will carry you right through the summer and at a fraction of the price. This look is most definitely a style steal in my books!

The shirt dress –

I’m so excited about this one! The shirt dress is trending all over the high street right now, from plain colours to quirky prints and patterns! I have decided on two differnt shirt dresses for you to take a look at today. Both are from the same store, and if you have a bigger budget to work with, the first one may suit you a little better. If you are styling your summer wardrobe on a budget, take a look at my second dress of choice.

This first shirt dress is from River Island and is priced at €100

If your budget has no limits, I would recommend this shirt dress, a design by Jean-Pierre Braganza for River Island. It has the most unusual black forum motor print with an oversized cut and a beautiful longline design.

This blue check print shirt dress from River Island and is priced at €45

Now let’s face it, most of us will want a wardrobe full of stylish pieces on a budget this summer. I certainly know I will!

Check print is everywhere!!! And this blue check print shirt dress is a great alternative to the more expensive previous dress. It has a tie waist with 3/4 length sleeves but also carries a beautiful gold button detail down the front.

Sunglasses

Yes, we all lust after that fabulous pair of Ray Ban, Prada or Chanel sunglasses, but a lot of us can’t stretch our budgets that far for something that the Irish weather deprives us so much of – the sun.

I think the high street has outdone itself in terms of dupe sunglasses. I have a pair here that dupe that of a Chanel pair, and I think you will be quite surprised to see where they are from.

On the left is a pair of Chanel sunglasses, and to your right is a dupe pair from Pennys/Primark.

Yes, Pennys have these in at the moment for a steal at €3

I have a pair myself and I find them brilliant in terms of UV protection, style and design.

The sleeveless jacket –

I am going to leave on a high note after this one!

One of the biggest trends that has hit the high street has to be the sleeveless jacket. I have decided on this one as I think the white colour is perfect for this season but it’s also a steal of course!

And it’s from…… Pennys/Primark! Priced at €20, you can’t go wrong!

This is just perfect in my eyes! It sits perfectly on the shoulder, has a draped lapel and ends just above the knee. I can’t wait to get my hands on this one!

I hope you have all enjoyed this post on my summer wardrobe must haves!

Stay fabulous guys and gals!

The Style Shaper reviews…….’Along Came Betty’ – Pure pores 15 minute detox mask

Hi everyone!

I picked up this product by ‘Along Came Betty’ a few weeks ago in the lovely Tesco. A few people asked me about it on Instagram so I have decided to do a short little review for you all!

The packaging is quite similar to that of the ‘Soap and Glory’ products which I think is what drew me closer to it! I’m hopeless with anything that is pink and pretty! The range consists of anything from body lotions, BB creams, hand creams to the pure pore detox.

For me, I think that reducing my pores around the nose and cheek areas were key. So I decided to pick this up and give it a shot. I have quite normal skin, so if you have a sensitive skin type and are a bit sceptical about trying it out, maybe check out the ingredients before purchasing.

The mask itself is white in colour with tiny orange micro-beads throughout. The consistency of the mask is quite thick, but smells divine and it very easy to apply. When applying you only need a small amount as the mask spreads well around the face.

To apply –

Take a small amount of the detox mask on your finger and apply in a circular motion to the face. When applying you will feel the micro-beads on the skin, which will dissolve as you apply.

Apply the mask to the skin as much as you are comfortable with, bringing it as far up as you can, avoiding the eye and mouth area. Chill out for 15 minutes and let the mask work its magic!

To remove –

When removing the mask, I simply used a clean damp face cloth as it it easy to rinse out afterwards.

The Style Shaper rates –

Overall I would rate this product 8/10. I think it is a good sized tub for the price of €6/€7, it smells amazing and leaves your skin feeling fresh and radiant.

The two marks lost here would be due to the fact that you do need to constantly use it to get results, and I’m not one to use a lot of product on my skin. The other mark would be that it does not remove blackheads immediately which may be caught in your pores.

I hope you have enjoyed this review on ‘Along Came Betty, pure pore 15 minute detox mask. Pop down to your nearest Tesco and give it a go!

Stay fabulous guys and gals!
